As reported by Greg Bean.

Opening Prayer
The Meeting convened with a prayer.

NEW BUSINESS
Last meeting, we concluded that one of our near term initiatives would be to revisit and refine our mission to assure that all are clear on the mission and direction of our chapter. Once we work through our mission, we will be developing a short presentation to be delivered to current and prospective members throughout the region. This presentation will include:

* Who we are and what we're about
* What we've accomplished to date
* What our near term initiatives are

Greg Bean presented a rough draft of the presentation and solicited input to be used to formulate a final draft. Discussion focused on the content, format, and agenda of the Fall sessions we're planning. The group agreed that the presentation should be short -- 15 to 20 minutes and that plenty of time should be available for 'facilitated' discussion. After the presentation possibly attendees will break into small group discussions with the intention of reporting back to the assembly at the conclusion of the session.

We have approached three pastors about hosting our Fall information sessions and they are currently considering the possibility of our visit. Our target date for an initial information session is in early October. In preparation for the meeting we will need to develop press releases, a signup sheet, and a brief flyer that explains what VOTF Baltimore is all about.

The group agreed that we should all revisit the Boston VOTF Web site to review the VOTF mission, lessons learned, and finance issues. Such a review will help us more readily articulate VOTF's mission and help us continue to formulate our local mission.

OLD BUSINESS

Name Change

The group was updated on the recent name change for our chapter. We are now known as the "Greater Baltimore Voice of the Faithful", having changed our name from the "Voice at Relay". The change required that we acquire a new domain name for the site. The new URL is http://www.votfbaltimore.org. The logo on the web site has also been changed to reflect the name change.

Atonement Service Planning
In prior meetings we have discussed an atonement service to address the needs of sexual abuse survivors in our geographic area. An atonement service would be a lay-led service where members of the community welcome survivors to participate with us as a sign of our support. Mary Liz Austin, from Healing Voices, Inc., a network of concerned professional therapists, has been helping us discuss the possibility of a service and the steps we might follow to accomplish one. Working together with Healing Voices we hope to have a service in March of 2004. We are currently trying to locate an adequate facility in the greater Baltimore area in which we can hold the service.

Supporting Priests
The group discussed that we should consult with priests about their needs for support.

Relay Prevention
The Relay Prevention Policy will be distributed in the Fall when Religious Education is in session.

Agenda Item - Next Meeting
Next month we should discuss "strengthening administrative talent in the Church".

Adjournment
The meeting concluded at 9:30pm with a prayer.

Next meeting is Tuesday, August 26th. 7:30pm.
